BBC Interactive TV
BBC Interactive TV wanted to know how technology, industry and audience behaviours might evolve over the next ten years. I led a team of trends researchers to build a ‘Picture of Now’ describing important political, economic, social, technological legal and environmental trends.
I chose a high street metaphor to illustrate the ‘Picture of Now’. Produced as 3m long posters they functioned as a map and aid memoir to the huge amount of data collected. In workshops it helped participants digest information, consider the relationship between trends and remember key facts.
We then designed workshops to help Interactive TV explore the relative importance of different factors.
We used systems thinking tools to help decide which trends were driving change and might have most impact on the future of BBC Interactive TV.
